Anitha, Prakash excel for Wonder Girls, Rangers

Mumbai, May 10 (PTI) Led from the front by captain Anitha P, Wonder Girls outclassed Power Girls 76-54 in a women''s tie in the Lakadawala Developers-Mastan YMCA All India Professional Basketball League here today. International Anitha excelled in attack and was equally hard working in defence, besides performing her role superbly as the ball handler to steal the honours in the four-team round robin tie. She top scored with 16 points, followed by Harjeet Kaur (14), Pratima Singh (11) and Reshma G (10). For the losing side, Akanksha Singh ended with 21 points, the highest in the match, while Prashanti Singh (12) and Seema Singh (10) also chipped in. In a men''s match from Group B, Prakash Mishra was in fine form, sinking 31 points to lead Rangers to a 80-60 win over Soldiers. Soldiers struggled to overcome the first quarter deficit of 7-26 conceded to Rangers. Mishra ended the leading scorer from both sides while Vineet Mathew and Sridhar S scored 13 points each for Rangers. Soldiers were aided by Jagdeep Singh (26) and C V Dinesh (14). PTI SSR RSY DB.
