Cardamom futures rise on firm spot demand

New Delhi, May 17 (PTI) Cardamom prices rose by Rs 8.70 or 0.60 per cent to Rs 1,469 per kg in futures trading today on firming trend at spot markets against restricted arrivals. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for June-month contract rose by Rs 8.70, or 0.60 per cent to Rs 1,469.00 per kg, with an open interest of 733 lots. The spice for delivery in July-month contract also traded higher by the same margin at Rs 1,454.10, with a business turnover of 415 lots. Traders said, pick up in demand at spot market against less arrivals from producing regions mainly led to a rise in cardamom prices at futures trade.
