Full Bore shooting range inaugurated

Kadarpur (Haryana) , May 10 (PTI) Sports Minister M S Gill today inaugurated the newly-constructed Full Bore Shooting Range, which will be a venue for this year''s Commonwealth Games, at the CRPF Campus here. The range has been constructed at a cost of Rs 28 crore, and will hold the prestigious Queen Matches during the Games. The range is located at the foothill of Aravali hill range and has been designed as ''No-Danger-Area'' range. Movable Type electronic targets system will be used for the first time for Full Bore shooting competition for 300 yards, 300 meters, 500 yards, 600 yards, 900 yards and 1000 yards during the Commonwealth Games, the Sports Ministry said in a statement. Speaking on the occasion, Gill suggested the starting of an annual Bigbore shooting competition among the Central Para-Military Forces, State Police Forces and the Army for proper utilisation of the range developed by the Government. In addition, the facility will be the venue for hosting National and International shooting competitions. The Project was funded by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs.
