New Delhi, May 8 (PTI) Two armed robbers allegedly trying to rob a driver of money and his car were caught by a group of alert young men playing volleyball nearby, police said today. The incident took place late last night when the driver Rajesh Kumar took a detour to his house in Sarita Vihar in Southeast Delhi. He was on his way home and took a detour from Mathura Road and drove into an empty Uttar Pradesh government plot. The route is a shortcut to his house, a senior police official said. He was then waylaid by three men on a motorcycle who had been following the victim for quite some time. "They stopped the car and forced him out of it. They then snatched his cellphone and purse and were trying to drive away in his car when Rajesh shouted for help," the official said. A group of young men playing volleyball nearby rushed to his rescue. Seeing them, the three robbers tried to flee but one of them fell while running and the other two tried to help him. By that time the men managed to catch two of them. The nabbed persons have been identified as Yogesh Kumar, a resident of Loni and Manish Kumar, a resident of Ali Gaon. Efforts are on to nab the third accused Kallu.
