Islamabad, May 10 (IANS) Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari Monday postponed his visit to Karachi to attend a special meeting of the Sindh cabinet to review its functioning and has instead summoned its members to Islamabad.A private TV channel reported that Zardari had deferred his visit due to 'official engagements' and had summoned the Sindh cabinet to Islamabad. However, analysts here said the postponement could be linked to the simmering differences between the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) that leads the Sindh coalition and the Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM).This was reinforced by the fact that MQM cabinet ministers have not been invited for the Islamabad meeting. The president was to have been briefed by the Sindh ministers on their performance in the education, health and irrigation works and services areas, Online news agency had reported Sunday, quoting sources. The president had received complaints on several occasions that the Sindh education department had still not issued offer letters to the candidates who passed their teachers exams on merit, the sources added.'Moreover several blue-eyed officers have been inducted in the Sindh education department. Corruption is spreading its tentacles in the education department and the provincial education minister is not implementing the orders of the Sindh government,' Online said.
