News posted by www.newsinfoline.com

India, June 20 -- A group of workers stunned Minister of State for Environment and Forest Jairam Ramesh by asking a question on Lavasa City, which has come up 30 km away from Pune. Describing themselves as supporters of Medha Patkar, they said that the project had not taken a single NOC from the Environment Ministry while thousands of trees were being cut and hills were destroyed to allow resorts to come up. They also alleged that the company forcibly took possession of land from the farmers.A sort of commotion prevailed when the auditorium supported them. Jairam Ramesh assured them the Union government would correct itself if there was any mistake on its part.
