High uranium level detected in hair samples test in Punjab

Faridkot (Punjab), June 16 (ANI): The tests conducted on the hair samples of 150 neurologically disabled children in Punjab's Faridkot District have revealed high levels of Uranium and other harmful chemicals."Approximately 150 children's hair samples of Baba Farid Center For Special Children were taken for heavy metal test. Heavy metals are known for creating neurological disorder. Children suffering from neurological disorder come here and to treat them heavy metals tests were conducted," said Pritpal Singh, Chairman, Baba Farid Center for Special Children."Heavy metals have been detected in the test results. Aluminum level is very high as well as Uranium level is also very high and other heavy metals have also been detected," he added.The Baba Farid Center for Special Children gives treatment for autism, cerebral palsy and mental impairment.The German laboratory conducted the tests."In 2009, when we got the report about Uranium it was very surprising report for us. We expected that Mercury and Arsenic level will be high. But in the report, it was mentioned that Uranium level is very high as well as Lead and Aluminum," said Dr Amar Singh Azad, President, Kheti Virasat Mission Punjab."It the came up as a cocktail. These four metals found altogether might be due to the effect of pesticide and fertilizers," he added. (ANI)
