Sehwag shines with ball, India skittle out Bangladesh for 167

Dambulla (Sri Lanka), Jun 16 (PTI) A magic spell by part-time off-spinner Virender Sehwag helped India bundle out Bangladesh for a meagre 167 in the Asia Cup cricket tournament at the Rangiri Dambulla International stadium here today. Opting to bat, Bangladesh got off to a brisk start with Tamim Iqbal (22) and Imrul Kayes (37) raising 35 runs in 17 balls. But once Tamim perished to a low catch by Suresh Raina at short extra covers off Praveen Kumar, Bangladesh just could not force the pace against a disciplined Indian attack. With Ashish Nehra limping off the field after a four-over spell, captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni turned to Sehwag and Rohit Sharma. Both struck pay dirt, wrapping up the insipid Bangladesh innings in four overs between them. Sehwag''s brilliant figures read 2.5-0-6-4, while Rohit claimed one wicket, conceding just five runs in his only over. Nehra (2/28), Harbhajan Singh (1/32) and Ravindra Jadeja (1/27) were also among wickets. Kayes, who mishit Nehra to Sehwag at short square, top-scored with 37. There were contributions from Mohammad Ashraful (20), Mushfiqur Rahim (30) and Mahmudullah (23) but it wasn''t substantial to augment Bangladesh''s total.
