Bulandshahr (UP), May 18 (PTI) Around 30 policemen, including five sub-inspectors, are posted at different police stations in the district though they are involved in various crimes. This is despite the Uttar Pradesh police chief''s order that constables involved in criminal cases should not have postings involving public contact. Admitting such postings, Senior SP Neelesh Kumar said proper vigil was being kept on the activities of the tainted policemen and added that they were not being given sensitive posts. As per records, three of the five sub-inspectors are wanted in connection with crimes like murder, attempt to murder and bribery. Two other SIs are accused in dowry cases. Among the tainted cops, some have even served jail terms. As many as 23 constables face charges including bribery, extortion and aiding escape of undertrial prisoners from police custody.
