Former Samajwadi Party leader and Rajya Sabha MP Amar Singh launched a new outfit, Lok Manch, in Lucknow on Wednesday. He is president of the outfit, and its flag has his face embossed on red, white and green strips. Singh said Obaidullah Azmi is the working president of Lok Manch, expelled SP MP Jaya Prada vice-president and actor Sanjay Dutt secretary general. Bhojpuri actor Manoj Tiwari heads the cultural wing.Singh refrained from describing the Lok Manch as a political organisation, but said it will work mainly in UP's Poorvanchal region, which has 28 Lok Sabha constituency and 147 Assembly constituencies, and fight for the creation of a separate Poorvanchal state.He said the National Federation for New States, of which he was appointed president a few days ago, will focus on the demand for smaller states all over the country.Singh said Tiwari is making a film, Dhokha, to highlight the conditions in Poorvanchal. "The film will be released just before the 2012 Assembly elections," he said.
