Bhubaneswar, May 17 (PTI) BJP today demanded a judicial probe into Saturday''s police action against the anti-Posco agitators in Jagatsinghpur district, saying that security men indulged in rights violation during the crack-down. The demand was made by the party''s central team lead by Rajya Sabha MP Balbir Punj after visiting Balitutha, the entry point to Posco''s proposed plant site villages. "We are surprised to find that police set fire on the shops and houses without any provocation at Balitutha," Punj told reporters. Besides burning of houses and shops, the team also found charred remains of some vehicles like tractor, truck and motor-bikes which bear testimony to the police brutality, Punj said. The team also visited the hospital where six shop keepers with burns were being treated. "We spoke to them. They told us that the police set fire to their shops when they were inside," party''s state vice-president Ashok Sahu, who accompanied the team, said.
