BJP greedy for power, say Congress, JVM-P

Ranchi, May 7 (IANS) The Congress and its ally Jharkhand Vikas Morcha-Prajatantrik (JVM-P) Saturday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of being 'greedy to grab power' and resorting to 'dirty politics' in Jharkhand.'The BJP has gone mad to grab power in Jharkhand. It has become greedy to grab power. Jharkhand has collapsed due to greedy politics of BJP,' union Food Processing Industries Minister Subodh Kant Sahay, who is the MP from Ranchi, told reporters in New Delhi, reacting to the BJP-Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) power-sharing settlement.The state had been plunged in crisis since April 28 as the BJP threatened to withdraw support to Chief Minister Shibu Soren, who had voted in favour of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government during the BJP tabled cut motions in the Lok Sabha.After days of discussion, the BJP and the JMM reached an agreement Saturday that Soren would resign and the BJP would head the new government.The Congress, which adopted a wait and watch policy, was hopeful that Soren would break his alliance with the BJP and rejoin the United Progressive Alliance.JVM-P chief Babulal Marandi said: 'The BJP stands exposed. The doublespeak of the BJP has come to the fore and its dirty politics to grab power have been exposed. People of the state have no hope from the BJP-led government in the state. The state will again witness misrule'.Marandi, the first chief minister of Jharkhand, had announced that if given a chance, he was ready to again take responsibility of run the state.
