London, May 16 (ANI): A British Architect has an ambitious plan to recreate a medieval English hamlet in Home Counties by utilizing a dilapidated 30-acre site in Kent for this operation.Seventy-year-old architect and former carpenter Walter Roberts has already built a perfectly recreated Tudor house that regally holds its own amongst the modern day properties lining his street. The first stage of his new venture goes before Medway Council next week and Roberts is confident planners will approve his 1.3million pounds bid to renovate the Grade I listed, oak-framed Manor Farm Barn at the centre of the site.According to the Daily Express, stone-built homes will be put up around a village green, along with workshops for craftsmen and apprentices using centuries-old methods."People probably think I'm mad but I see this as a valuable work creation programme during a difficult time of unemployment," the paper quoted him as saying. He recently finished four years' work building a 16th century-style Tudor house in Rochester. "There is still great value in teaching people the traditional skills," he said. (ANI)
