BSE Sensex turns negative after rising 0.5 pct

The BSE Sensex erased gains of as much as 0.5 percent and turned negative on Tuesday afternoon, following a weak start to European markets.At 1:08 p.m. (0738 GMT), the 30-share Bombay Stock Exchange index was down 0.04 percent at 18,073.50 points, with 18 stocks declining.The 50-share National Stock Exchange index was down 0.1 percent at 5,427.90 points.(Reporting by Pratish Narayanan)
