Srinagar, May 16 (PTI) Jammu and Kashmir Roads and Buildings minister G M Saroori today flagged off first ever direct bus service from Kokernag to Innshen, connecting south kashmir with Kishtwar district of Jammu region. "This road would not only bring close people of Kishtwar and Anantnag but also pave the way for ensuring timely supply of essentials to the people of Innshen at reasonable rates", he said addressing a gathering on the occasion. He said Rs 4.50 crore have been spent on the road so far and efforts would be made to keep the road open round the year. The people of Innshen were without bus facility even after 63 years of independence of the country, he said. Reaffirming resolve of the Government to connect every inaccessible and unconnected area through road network,he said a number of road projects have been taken up under various sectors to bring the people close to each other. Saroori said the Centre has approved Rs 1467 crore under 7th phase of PMGSY, which can facilitate the State to construct new roads besides extending the existing road network in every district of the State.
