Ahmedabad, Aug. 3 -- The CBI on Monday reversed its earlier decision and wanted five-day police custody for former Gujarat home minister Amit Shah in connection with the fake encounter killings of November 2005. The special CBI court will give its verdict on August 4. Shah is the main accused in the killings of Sohrabuddin Sheikh and his wife Kausar Bi. His bail plea was scheduled to be heard on Monday. When Shah was arrested, the CBI had not sought his police custody and hence, he received 14 days' judicial custody. "It was part of our strategy for not seeking his custody at the time of his arrest. We wanted his custody at later stage," a CBI official said.
