Copper prices rise on good demand

Mumbai, May 28 (PTI) Copper prices and brass prices rose in an otherwise steady non-ferrous metal market here today on good demand from industrial users on the back of mixed trend at the London Metal Exchange (LME). However, tin prices softened on lower buying support. Copper utensils scrap rose by Rs 5 per kilo to Rs 344 from its overnight closing level of Rs 339. Copper armiture gained by Rs 4 to Rs 360 per kilo as against Rs 356 yesterday. Copper sheet cuttings, Brass utensils scrap and brass sheet cutting all moved up by RS 3 per kilo each to Rs 355, Rs 258 and Rs 266, respectively. Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy and copper wire bar all edged up by Rs 2 per kilo each to RS 368, Rs 363 and Rs 396. Tin eased by Rs 2 per kilo to Rs 960 from Rs 962 yesterday.
