Deleware man charged with faking his way into Harvard University

New York, May 18 (ANI): A Harvard University student has been reportedly arrested for allegedly providing false details of his background and endorsements to obtain admission to the Ivy League school and secure scholarship money.According to the Boston Globe, a newspaper, the university started investigating Adam Wheeler, 23, in September.A professor, reviewing applications for a Rhodes and Fulbright Scholarship, found Wheeler had plagiarized another student's work.Also, the university discovered Wheeler, of Deleware, had forged his Harvard transcript to make himself a straight-A student for his scholarship application.Also, Wheeler had falsely claimed he had attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and graduated from Phillips Academy in Andover, The Boston Globe reported.He won over 45,000 dollars in research grants, scholarships and financial aid, by using a plagiarized submission, as a student last fall.Despite being made aware of the investigation, Wheeler applied to be admitted as a transfer student to Yale and Brown Universities.He fabricated recommendation from the Harvard dean who first noticed his alleged scheme, reports the New York Post.Wheeler has been charged with four counts of larceny over 250dollars, eight counts of identity fraud, seven counts of falsifying an endorsement or approval and pretending to hold a degree.
