GJM calls for 12 hr shutdown in West Bengal

Kerseong,June 17 (ANI):Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM), the separatist group demanding a separate Gorkha state in West Bengal,called for 12-hour shutdown on Thursday as a protest against alleged manhandling of women activists by the police during a rally in Kerseong town. Most of the shops and other business units remained closed and public transport was partially affected. GJM supporters alleged that security forces misbehaved and manhandled women activists of Nari Mukti Morcha the women wing of GJM, during a peaceful rally in the town of Kerseong, in Darjeeling,on June 16.
