Graffiti in Shillong buildings baffles police

Shillong, Jun 18 (PTI) The boundary walls government buildings, including the Raj Bhawan here, were whitewashed this morning after unidentified miscreants posted baffling graffiti on them, police said here. A graffiti on the walls of Raj Bhavan, depicted a man with a line ''How Much?'' painted below. The walls of the deputy commissioner office bore a drawing of a scorpion with a human head with ''Need Uranium? Thlen (a mythical snake) at your service''. "It could be the work of mischief mongers as it did not appear to be a campaign on any issue. We have registered a case and are investigating it," DSP (Crime) Vivek Syiem said. Stating that graffiti could have been stencilled past last midnight during loadshed, he said, the depictions were inconsistent and could not be linked to each other.
