Playing a controlled game, Ajay Gupta scored a 2-1 (30-46, 30-15, 40-19) win over DS Chawla in a first round snooker match in the Ninth Saurabh Khattar Memorial Billiards and Snooker Championship being played at Chandigarh Club on Tuesday.Gupta lost the first frame with a 30-46 margin before claiming the second frame with a 30-15 frame. In the third and final frame, Gupta played a superb game to claim it with a 40-19 margin to win the match. In another match in the same category, Lakshay Arora scored a 2-1 (56-32, 32-43, 62-35) win over Gursher Singh. Playing a controlled game, Arora claimed the first frame with a 56-32 margin before losing the second frame with a 32-43 margin. Arora then claimed the third and final frame with a 62-35 margin to win the match. It was also easy going for Rishi Vahi as he scored a 2-1 (46-57, 68-28, 61-29) win over Pulkit Sharma in the same category. In billiards category, Jaskirat Singh scored a 150-104 win over Abhay Sood while in another encounter, Anshul Mittal scored a 150-90 win over Sanjay Kaushal.
