Haryana first with web portal for public grievances

Chandigarh, June 18 (IANS) Haryana Friday became the first Indian state to launch a web portal for quickly addressing public grievances, an official said.Chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda launched the portal, www.harsamadhan.gov.in.'Haryana is the first state in the country to launch such a web portal. Redressal of citizens' grievances is a priority area for us and this user-friendly portal would help them to get their problems solved quickly. It is a significant step in the field of e-governance in the state,' Hooda said.'Harsamadhan allows registration of grievances on an 'anytime-anywhere' basis. It would undoubtedly facilitate in providing transparent, responsive and efficient vehicle to fulfil the aspirations of the people,' he said.Haryana Chief Secretary Urvashi Gulati said: 'Haryana has launched this web portal through a centralised computer-based system. It has been branded as 'Harsamadhan', which is a combination of two words 'har' (everyone) and 'samadhan' (solution).'She said the portal will act as a fool-proof system for registration of complaints and provide a sound monitoring and evaluation mechanism.
