New auto sales in Chile could exceed 250,000 units this year, setting a new record as the economy shrugs off last year's global crisis and a major quake, the country's automotive association said on Thursday.Chamber vicepresident Gustavo Castellanos saw no effect on demand coming from the central bank's hike to its key interest rate on Tuesday, he told Reuters in an interview.The bank raised its benchmark rate by 50 basis points to 1 percent on Tuesday, the first increase in nearly two years.(Reporting by Felipe Iturrieta and Brad Haynes)
