Jeera futures up on spot demand, tight supply

New Delhi, May 5 (PTI) Jeera prices rose by Rs 26 or 0.20 per cent to Rs 12,888 per quintal in futures market today on sustained buying and heavy demand in spot markets. At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, jeera for May contract gained Rs 26, or 0.20 per cent to Rs 12,888 per quintal, with an open interest of 6,639 lots. The spice for delivery in June contract also traded higher by Rs 20, or 0.15 per cent to Rs 13,092 per quintal, with a business turnover of 17,598 lots. Market experts said, sustained buying by traders against restricted arrivals in the physical market mainly helped jeera prices to trade higher at futures trade.
