Srinagar, Jun 18 (PTI) Jammu and Kashmir government today suspended four senior engineers and nine other officials of irrigation department with immediate effect for their involvement in the alleged irregularities in Handwara irrigation division, officials said. The action was taken on the basis of a preliminary inquiry conducted by Chief Engineer of Irrigation and Flood Control Department, Kashmir, on their involvement into the alleged irregularities last year, an official spokesman said. The inquiry was ordered by Minister for Irrigation & Flood Control Taj Mohiuddin following a complaint from Handwara MLA Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan (NC) regarding irregularities in execution of works by the irrigation department.
