Karnal gets a luxury hotel

Chandigarh, June 17 (PTI) Offering an eclectic mix of traditional Mughal and Rajput architecture, Haryana-based Jewels Group of Hotels has come up with a five-star hotel Noor Mahal in Karnal, it said today. The group said that it has set up the high-end hotel with an investment of USD 60-70 million. Spread over 8 acres of land with 3.5 lakh square feet of carpet area, the hotel would possess 122 rooms along with seven banquets having a capacity of 5000 guests. "Our five star property will create a benchmark in the luxury segment in the northern region," Jewels Group CMD Manbeer Choudhary told reporters here today, adding that the investment in the property amounts USD 60-70 million. "The hotel has been built keeping in mind the heritage concept and it incorporates a mix of traditional Mughal and Rajput architecture," he said. The Group intends to woo tourists from the Northern region including Delhi and Haryana, corporate and retail sector located in and around Karnal and local basmati rice exporters. The group aims to have minimum 60 per cent occupancy rate in the first year of operation and eyes breakeven point in second year of operation. Currently, the company has a four star hotel in Karnal.
