Myanmar landslide kills 56

Yangon, June 18 (IANS) Fiftysix people were killed in a landslide triggered by heavy rains in Maungtaw and Buthidaung townships in Myanmar's western region.The downpour destroyed over 120 houses and buildings, damaged bridges and washed away sections of roads, Xinhua reported Friday. More than 2,200 people have been evacuated to safer places.
