NC legislators seek funds to improve roads

Srinagar, May 15 (PTI) Five ruling National Conference legislators today called on Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and sought special funds to improve the condition of roads in the city. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Mubarak Gul, Irfan Shah, Shamima Firdous and Mohammad Yaseen Shah emphaised that Economic Reconstruction Agency, Urban environment engineering Division and other sister organisations be fully geared up to complete all drainage projects within the shortest possible time, an official spokesman said after the meeting. He said the the issues of garbage disposal and sanitation were also discussed in the meeting. The city has recently been rated as the fourth dirtiest cities of the country in a survey of the Urban Development ministry.
