New Delhi, May 17 (PTI) In a major step towards conservation of trees in Lutyen''s Delhi, the New Delhi Municipal Corporation today introduced a multi-purpose water tank with a capacity of 12,000 litres which will be used for washing of trees. "The dual-purpose tank has a capacity of 12,000 litres. It will normally be used for washing of trees so that the trees regain their strength and reflect their colourful hues," the NDMC said in a release. It would also help in eliminating pests that cause harm to the trees. "In case of emergency like fire incident this can be used as a fire engine." The device can also be used for dewatering areas of waterlogging. It is equipped with combined high-low pressure fire pump and appliances incorporated for multi-pressure. PTI ETB.
