Kathmandu, May 17 (ANI): The Unified CPN (Maoist) has decided to promulgate a Constitution drafted by the party from the streets on May 29.A politburo meeting of the party held at party headquarters on Sunday decided to promulgate its Constitution unilaterally if a consensus is not forged before the Constituent Assembly's (CA) term expires. They decided not to vote for CA term extension if new government under Maoist-leadership is not formed. They also decided to cancel the nationwide protests scheduled for May 25 and a cadres training scheduled for May 18."As it is obvious that Constituent Assembly cannot come up with the new Constitution on time," Kanitipur quoted Maoist Spokesperson Dinanath Sharma as, saying. "Decision has been taken to make public the people's federal republic constitution," he said. The Maoists have put forth the resignation of Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal and formation of a national unity government under their leadership as preconditions for the CA extension. They have said that there is no essence of the term extension if their preconditions are not met notwithstanding the fact that Constitution drafting has not been completed.Meanwhile, the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML have dismissed the Maoist conditions saying that they are unnatural and undemocratic.
