Kushinagar, May 15 (PTI) Farmers, whose land had been acquired for constructing an international airstrip here, held the concerned officials and employees hostage at the collectorate here for over two hours today to press for early declaration of compensation rates. The officials were held hostage by angry farmers when a meeting at the collectorate was in progress, official sources said. The farmers allowed the staff to come out only after they were assured by the ADM B N Maurya that the rates would soon be announced.
