Radek Stepanek pulls out of Wimbledon through injury

Number 22 seed Radek Stepanek will miss next week's Wimbledon because of injury, the Czech said on Thursday.Stepanek was forced out as a result of a problem he sustained to his left knee 10 minutes into practice on Monday."I had cleared all tests on Monday morning without a single problem and had planned to fly out on Tuesday for Wimbledon preparations. I just wanted to try out a racket and this happened," he told Czech television.World number 25 Stepanek has struggled with his fitness for the last three months.The knee injury will also keep the 31-year-old out of next month's Davis Cup quarter-final against Chile.(Reporting by Jason Hovet, editing by Tony Jimenez.
