Rains claim 46 lives in Maharashtra

Mumbai, Jun 16 (PTI) Heavy rains lashing Maharashtra have claimed 46 lives so far, Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal said here today. "So far, 46 people have been killed due to heavy rains in the state," Bhujbal told reporters at Mantralaya after reviewing the situation in the state. The state government has announced a compensation of Rs one lakh each for the deceased, Rs 50,000 each for seriously injured and Rs 25,000 each to those who sustained minor injuries, he said.
