Replica of Tirupati temple to come up in Kurukshetra

Chandigarh, June 16 (PTI) A replica of the famous hill shrine of Lord Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh will come up in Kurukshetra in Haryana in three years. Haryana government today accorded approval to 5.52 acres of land to be given free of cost to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) of Andhra Pradesh for construction of Lord Venkteswara (Balaji) temple in Kurukshetra. The land will be given on 99 years of lease in the east-south corner of Brahmsarover and a decision for this was taken at a meeting of Haryana Cabinet presided by Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda here. TTD will plan and take up the construction which would commence within next three to four months and the project would be completed in three years. The temple will be exact replica of the existing temple at Tirupati, an official release said here, adding the TTD will also assist Kurukshetra Development Board in further development of Jyotisar, where the dialogue between Lord Krishna and Arjun had taken place just before the Maharabhata war to germinate into Gita later, and other holy places. It was also decided that the TTD would include two nominees of Haryana in the managing committee of the temple. The release said the TTD had evinced interest in setting up of a Balaji temple in Kurukshetra as there is a lot of following of Lord Balaji in this region.
