Mumbai, June 17 (PTI) Sarasin Alpen (India) Private Limited, a subsidiary of Swiss private bank Bank Sarasin & Co Ltd, has named Shiv Khazanchi as the managing director for its India operations. Khazanchi will be based out of Sarasin Alpen''s New Delhi office, a press release issued here today said. In addition to his responsibilities as head of Sarasin Alpen, Khazanchi will also oversee the operations of Alpen Capital India Private Limited, its investment banking associate. Sarasin Alpen''s operations were launched in India in July 2009, with offices in Mumbai and New Delhi. Sarasin Alpen (India) Private Limited, registered as a non-fund-based non-banking financial company (NF-NBFC), provides financial advisories and consultancy services to wealthy private clients in India, besides distributing select prime third-party products such as mutual funds. Khazanchi has close to 35 years of experience in corporate, retail and private banking, acquired through experience in banks across India and the UK. He joins Sarasin Alpen from Standard Chartered Bank, where he was the managing director and global head of the Global Indian Business -- based in London. Prior to that, he was based in India, heading Standard Chartered''s India operations. He launched his career with the State Bank of India and went on to work in organisations such as American Express and ANZ Grindlays.
