The 26th Sub Junior State Aquatic Championships-2010 will be held at Sports Stadium Sigra, Varanasi from May 25 to 27 under the 'Samanvay scheme' of the UP Sports Directorate. On the basis of performance in this championship, the swimmers and divers will be selected for the 27th Sub Junior National Aquatic Championships 2010 to be held at Bangalore from July 12 to 15.Ravin Kapoor, secretary, UP Swimming Association informed that around 400 competitors (boys and girls) will be participating from all the 18 'mandals' of UP in the state sub-junior swimming and diving championships. Many national medallists will also be participating in the tournament.The Sports Directorate will be sanctioning a fifteen-day coaching camp at Lucknow for the selected swimmers and divers of the state team in order to impart intensive coaching prior to the National Championships at Bangalore, Kapoor further informs.The championships will be held in the following age groups in swimming and diving for boys and girls:Swimming (Sub-Junior Groups for Boys and Girls): Group III (11 & 12 years) : Born in 1998 & 1999; Group IV (9 & 10 years): Born in 2000 & 2001; Diving: Group I (16, 17 & 18 years): Born in 1992, 1993 & 1994; Group II ( 14 & 15 years): Born in 1995 & 1996; Group III (12 & 13 years): Born in 1997 & 1998.
