Chandigarh, May 16 -- The Indian shooting team participating at the ISSF World Cup in Dorset, England, has complained of harassment. The shooters say that they are being humiliated by the organisers and are feeling insecure and threatened. The team manager, M. Padmanabhan, has written a letter to the Indian High Commissioner, requesting him to intervene in the matter. The manager complained that the Indian shooters were boarding the bus from the shooting range to their hotel when the driver slammed the door shut leaving Manavjit Singh Sandhu stranded at the range. When the other shooters on the bus objected, the driver went to the supervisor of the transport department, who, in turn, yelled and screamed at them. "He was very rude and threatened the team with dire consequences and even misbehaved with Manavjit Singh, a world champion," wrote the manager."On Thursday, we had deposited 8000 pounds to the organisers promising to deposit the remaining 2000 pounds later in the day as one of our officials had gone to encash a traveller's cheque. But they told our players to move out of the bus. They are unnecessarily stretching the issue and humiliating our shooters," said the manager.
