Sugar drops on reduced stockists demand

Mumbai, June 21 (PTI) Sugar prices dropped moderately at the Vashi wholesale market here today on reduced buying from stockists and retailers amid fresh supplies from the mills. Medium sugar quality (M-30) dipped by Rs 10/25 per quintal to Rs 2,550/2,660 from weekend''s closing level of Rs 2,575/2,670. Small sugar quality (S-30) also fell by Rs 15 per quintal to Rs 2,525/2,580 as against Rs 2,540/2,580 last Saturday. Following are today''s closing rates per quintal, with previous rates in brackets: Small sugar (S-30) quality Rs 2,525/2,580 (Rs 2,540/ 2,580) and Medium sugar (M-30) quality Rs 2,550/2,660 (Rs 2,575/2,670).
