Swarovski eyes over 25 per cent growth this year in India

Mumbai, June 20 (PTI) Buoyed by the market response, luxury crystel products maker Swarovski is eyeing an over 25 per cent growth this year, a top company official said. Based on current growth rate, the Austrian-firm is also confident of doubling its retail base in the next two-years, the official said. Swarovski, that presently has around 20 boutiques plans to ramp-up its network to 50 by 2012. Besides, it also has 14 shop-in-shops in a tie-up with Shoppers Stop. "We plan to open about 30 more stores in the next two years," Swarovski''s Country Manager (India) Sukanya Dutta Roy told PTI here, without, however, divulging any investment details. The company is also scouting for opportunities to expand its business in airports as it finds it very promising for high-end products, she said. Swarovski currently has retail outlets in Hyderabad, Mumbai and New Delhi airports. The Euro 2.6-billion company, with its range of precious crystal products, also plans to enter into other segments, Dutta Roy said.
