Tata Motors`` passengers car head Rajiv Dube quits

New Delhi, May 17 (PTI) Tata Motors today said its president for the passenger car division, Rajiv Dube has resigned from the company. "Rajiv Dube, president of the passenger car business unit, has communicated his decision to resign from the company and to pursue other interests outside the Tata Group. His request has been accepted," the company said in a statement. When contacted, Dube confirmed the news and said, "I am moving ahead to pursue new opportunities outside the Tata Group." Tata Motors said Senior Vice-President (Commercial) S Krishnan has been assigned an additional responsibility of the company''s premier car division with immediate effect. "Similarly, Girish Wagh, Head -- Small Car Project, will take on the additional responsibility of the passenger car business'' manufacturing operations and product development activities," the company said, adding, both of them will directly report to the managing director of the India Operations -- P M Telang. Asked about his future plans, Dube declined to comment, but said, "I have couple of options and in the next 4-6 weeks, I will decide." It is, however, speculated that he is likely to join the non-automotive sector and is exploring a possibility in an Indian conglomerate. Dube, who joined the Tata Group in 1983, has been heading the passenger car business since formation of the division in 1998. He has also worked with other group companies such as Tata Industries.
