TCS secures IT contract from Telenor Norway

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a leading IT services company, on Wednesday said it has signed a multi-year outsourcing contract with Telenor Norway. Along with application maintenance and development services, the contract comprises modernisation of Telenor's Norway's application portfolio across its open source software (OSS), fixed, mobile, data warehouse and accounting system domains. Through this, Telenor Norway will improve its operational efficiency, refresh its IT stack and will become more agile to respond to its customers' changing needs.Telenor is a leading mobile communications services provider in 13 markets across Asia and Europe."By implementing this measure, we are making the necessary adaptations to provide our customers with improved and more innovative services in relation to capacity, speed and stability, as well as better quality in both voice and data, and to facilitate current demands for accessibility," said Ragnar Kårhus, CEO of Telenor Norway.The telecom business unit is the second largest vertical for TCS, comprising more than 12,000 employees working for around 160 telecom clients worldwide.
