Bhavnagar (Guj), May 16 (PTI) Three people died today due to excessive heat in Jain pilgrimage place of Palitana hill in the district when they were climbing it, hospital sources said. On the day of Akshay Tritya, which is considered to be very auspicious, a large number of people from Jain community come to Palitana, officials said. The trio who died due to sun stroke, have been identified as Hansaben Shah (57) from Ahmedabad, Rajendra Kumar (56) and Chandra Bharat Jain (59) both from Rajasthan, hospital sources said. The state is reeling under heat wave conditions for the last three days and the maximum temperature has been recorded above 42 degrees in most places.
