Mumbai, May 10 (PTI) Tata Power Company today said that it would not ''prima facie'' accept the Maharashtra government''s directive to provide 358 MW of power to Mumbai consumers of Reliance Infra till June 30. "We are studying the order and, prima facie, do not accept the order of the Maharashtra government to supply power to R-Infra, as it would cause great hardship to our consumers," TPC said in a statement today. Both TPC and R-Infra received the government order today asking them to maintain status quo till June 30. The Cabinet sub-committee of the Maharashtra government, on May 6 had asked both Tata Power and R-Infra to maintain the status quo till June 30, which effectively means that the Tata group company will have to continue supplying 358 MW of power to Anil Ambani-led R-Infra till that date. The entire power generation capacity available for Mumbai must be utilised fully to meet the power demand of the city at a regulated price, the sub-committee had said. The sub-committee had also directed R-Infra to come up with an action plan to meet the metropolis'' power demands. Meanwhile, R-Infra, in a statement, today said, "Our focus is to protect Mumbai sub-urban consumers from tariff shocks and fight for their legitimate rights. We will continue to protect the interests of our consumers". .
