Trinamool very much part of UPA: Mamata

Kolkata, May 17 (PTI) The Trinamool Congress today once again made a distinction between local-level politics and its role at the national level, saying that though its alliance with the Congress in the civic poll had collapsed, it was "very much" with the Congress-led UPA government. "We are with the UPA government and will continue to support the Congress-led alliance," party chief Mamata Banerjee said here tonight. At a civic poll rally at Nebutala park, Banerjee, who is also the Railway minister, said it was not proper and wise to confuse local politics with national politics, adding "we are part of the UPA and that is from the national perspective". The Trinamool chief blasted Chief Minister Buddhadev Bhattacharjee for branding her as "an aggressive politician", and said "it is ridiculous to dub her so by a party (CPI-M) which believes in the politics of murder, violence and loot".
