U2 may suffer 100mn pounds loss due to Bono`s back injury

London, June 17 (ANI): Irish rock band U2 may incur a loss of about 100 million pounds in total after the band's performances were cancelled due to lead singer Bono's back injury.The 50-year-old singer had to undergo an emergency surgery after he became paralysed. This forced the band to cancel the start of the US leg of their 360 degree Tour and their starting performance at the Glastonbury festival.Bono has been asked to take rest and 17 tour shows were cancelled, reports The Sun.Bono and the band are covered by insurance but the cost of overheads and missed revenue could easily reach 100million pounds by the time he's fit enough to perform again," a source said.U2's manager Paul McGuinness said: "If we play or not, touring still costs us 500,000 pounds a day."
