UAE launches first job `e-fair`

Abu Dhabi, May 16 (IANS/WAM) Job seekers and potential employers in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will now no longer need to meet each other but can interact via video conference, after the launch of a first-of-its-kind job 'e-fair'.The employment e-fair, organised by Jobs Abu Dhabi, began Sunday and will continue till May 20. Various government bodies, private sector companies and universities in the Gulf nations are taking part in the fair.The e-fair, the first of its kind in the UAE, allows job seekers to register on the internet, review unique job opportunities, submit a resume and interact with employers, without being present at company office.This will save time, travel expenses and allow both employers and job seekers to communicate via video conference, an official said.'Hundreds of job opportunities are being provided at the e-fair and it is expected to attract more than six thousand job seekers during event' Rashed Lahej Al Mansoori, director general of Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Centre (ADSIC) said.--IANS/WAMpm/vt
