Shimla, May 10 -- Bharatiya Janata Party National President Nitin Gadkari cautioned the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government that soft approach towards terrorists and Maoists was fraught with danger. "The internal and external security of the country is in danger. There is an atmosphere of fear in the country because of terrorist attacks. But the government is bowing down to terrorists," Gadkari said at a party rally in Shimla on Sunday. He said the Maoists were active from Pashupathinath in Nepal to Tirupati in India, but the government lacked the will to end the menace. Launching a frontal attack on the Congress leaders and the UPA government for the price rise, Gadkari said wrong economic policies and bad governance were responsible for inflation. He said Congress leaders, including party president Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Home Minister P. Chidambaram, had come out with explanations on rising prices, but had failed to intervene in the interest of the common man.Claiming that China had made encroachments on Indian territories at 147 places, he said the government was so helpless that it had only put up banners, requesting the Chinese to vacate the area.
