Bangalore, June 18 (ANI): Liquor baron Vijaya Malaya won his election to Rajya Sabha, which was held on Thursday. Mallya, after his victory, rubbished claims that he used his money to get elected. Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Vijaya Malaya, Oscar Fernades, Ram Jethmalani, Venkaiah Naidu and Ram Vilas Paswan were other prominent winners. Cross-voting by BJP, (BSP) and RJD legislators, in favour of the RJD and JD-U in the elections ended the hopes of an independent candidate. Also high profile Congress-backed independent Santosh Bagrodia failed to make it to the upper house.
