Director Sudhir Mishra, who has made cult hits like 'Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi' and 'Is Raat Ki Subah Nahin', feels that Indians are celebrity obsessed and are apathetic to the contribution of technicians in cinema."The contribution of technicians is very undermined and I blame the audience for it because they don't like to find out anything about cinema beyond what is before their eyes," Mishra, who turns host on television for the first time, said."So the pleasure that they are getting...it is not because of the actor but because how the editor cut the shot which juxtaposes him with a situation. But we don't want to find out about these things. With the advent of corporatisation and new media it is all about actors," said Mishra. The critically acclaimed director turns anchor with "Master Class" series for the FOX History and Entertainment Channel. The show, which premiered on April 29 takes an in-depth look at some of the greatest masters in contemporary cinema and will feature directors like Shekhar Kapur, Danny Boyle, Mahesh Bhatt, Aparna Sen, Mira Nair, Shyam Benegal, Ramesh Sippy and Govind Nihalani."There is no programme of a serious nature which talks about filmmakers and their craft and passion. We want to get inside the head of a director and the questions that I ask are from an insiders point of view, which I think makes for an interesting conversation," said the 'Chameli' director.Mishra also wants to include technicians, cameramen and senior actors in the series, which is right now dominated by directors.
