Welspun India to spend 3 bln rupees in FY11 on expansion

Welspun India Ltd which sells terry towels and home textiles, plans to spend 3 billion rupees in FY11 to enhance capacity, a top official told Reuters."We are also looking at debottlenecking of existing equipments. With small investments we are able to enhance productivity with the same machinery," Group Director Akhil Jindal said in an interview late on Monday.He also said the firm was talking to its suppliers to increase product prices in coming months as input prices continued its upward trend.The firm also plans to enter Japan, Singapore and Middle East in two years' to strengthen its Asian foothold, he added.(Reporting by Aniruddha Basu & Swati Pandey; Editing by Ramya Venugopal)
